I have seen
A possibility Of a world that does not exist (But could one day maybe) Where we learn to love our enemies By understanding them (Even if we can't forgive them.) I do believe that hate comes from misunderstanding--I think it's really hard (even impossible) to hate someone if you really know everything about them, even if you disagree with what they do. You don't have to forgive them or want them in your life, though (I don't necessarily think that's what loving someone means? You can still care about someone and want them to find peace without wanting them to be a part of your life) - Atlas

A delay A change in the weather. To him, It was the ending of everything. The world is always ending to someone - Atlas From the moment you're born
(And maybe even before) You are a possibility To change the lives of the people around you To change the world you live in Ant though the future may seem frightening You have the power to shape it. This doesn't quite feel finished, but I'm not sure what to change/add on to it - Atlas Forgiveness is a bitter fruit
To give and to receive It denies the closure of a clean break In favor of a painful, ugly mending But sometimes maybe it's better To have a whole, scarred heart Than an empty one "Sometimes" being the key word here. You're not obligated to forgive anyone--healing happens in different ways for different people - Atlas When things change
They are both good and bad Even if it might seem more like one at first There are consequences That even the wisest cannot see And even if sometimes it feels like We are simply fighting old problems With new faces Remember That despite everthing We are still Moving forward More of a loose assembly of thoughts than a real poem (but still) - Atlas The world has never been simple
But old problems, once resolved, seem smaller Than new ones And ever since the dawn of time The world has been Unfolding Today has been a strange day (not bad though, I think) - Atlas It's all too easy to forget
And be brutally reminded That tomorrow is a gift (Not a promise.) Does this make sense? I think it does - Atlas Do you feel it?
A thousand sighs upon the air Of the long-lost and forgotten A melody sung only once In silence When you're only half listening Do you feel it? Echoing in your soul and bones A strange feeling of melancholy And joy Like someone opening up the windows of a haunted house To let the sunlight in again This poem is kind of all over the place but I like the imagery - Atlas I'm glad it was you beside me
In the end Despite everything (Because of everything) A poem written about my cat, and also my friends - Atlas Maybe there will never be a time
When things are "all right" When everything is exactly as it should be But the fear that follows you Will pass eventually To be followed by other fears and hopes In equal measure. Things will get better And worse And what you make of it Is entirely Up to you The only thing we know for certain is that everything is going to change - Atlas |
