Rain falls
Wind roars And thunder crashes above But somehow even that Cannot disturb the quiet That exists in this place Some places are just surreal -Atlas

The movies don't show
When the brave young hero charges in to save the day And loses Because underdog heroes Are loved because they win When all odds are against them (But odds are odds And sometimes Heroes lose.) This poem is all over the place :\ -Atlas I wonder if you waited for me
Watching the empty road and the sky above For a sign that never came-- Maybe because you cared Or you were just curious, Or bored, Or you didn't wait at all. (I do not know What I would have wanted.) This poem probably makes no sense to anyone who isn't me (and even if I look back on it in a few months I'll probably be confused haha) -Atlas The price of love
Is falling. (You just have to find someone Willing to watch the clouds with you.) I hope you guys find someone like that (whether you like them romantically or not) -Atlas If you are waiting
For a clap of thunder Or a great and terrible voice Proclaiming great and terrible things You will never stop waiting. The answers you seek are in your breathing, the conversations you've had over and over, the drive to work. (They are in the moments that you miss.) It's funny--I used to want this blog to become super popular overnight, but now I'm kind of glad it didn't?? I'm not sure if I want tons of people to be judging my work just yet (if that makes sense) -Atlas Water stings like a slap when it's hit.
It is reluctant to boil And does not forget a grudge. But sometimes, If you're lucky And patient If you sit by a river And skim your fingers over the surface As gently as you can It will sing for you (And in that moment you'll realize That water can be the softest thing in the world.) Why did I write a poem about water? Because I can -Atlas "Blind as a bat," they say
But there are other ways to see This makes no sense at all tbh -Atlas Shall we break apart a word?
Let's break apart "humanity" A species, yes And a quality so important We named it after ourselves A treat that means "kind," "caring," "struggling to overcome an obstacle despite overwhelming odds." I wonder If we met another being like us Who was not us And who we did not instantly despise Would we praise their "humanity", too? This poem is a trainwreck. Huzzah -Atlas Make like a tree
And always Constantly Reach for the sun Trees are pretty neat if you think about them a bit -Atlas "But how will I know when I'm ready?"
"You will know After you begin." Barely even a poem but hey it counts as something right -Atlas |
