I stare into mirrors
Not because I am afraid a hair is out of place (Though that's often the case) But simply because I like my own company And I want to see What others see When they think of me Does that make me vain? -Atlas

Did you know
That the red on this flag Is more than just a color? Did you know the cost of freedom When you told us to seek it? When you set out on this momentous journey Did you know the whole world was watching? When you touched pen to paper, Did you know That you were writing in blood? *Hamilton plays in the distance* -Atlas Light, shining through fog.
Silhouettes that curl and vanish like smoke. Peering through closed eyelids. The first step into the unknown, The future, The veil between you and what you're trying to see. Well at least it's kind of a poem -Atlas Despite the broken chains lying
At my feet I am not free ...eh -Atlas Today I saw a perfect stranger
Who I glimpsed once in a dream She was an 'almost', A 'maybe' That never came to be And perhaps it was justice Or perhaps it was fate That though we had this chance to meet It already was too late So I tried writing a poem with a bit of rhythm/rhyme (...yeah. That's something I'll need to practice a lot) -Atlas I am the feeling of boulders in a gray-green forest Under a flat gray sky The only ghosts here Are the ones you bring yourself ---------- Peace is purple and orange and green It is a still lake That almost reflects the sky And the knowledge That you are not alone ---------- Do not turn away the little girl at the door. She needs you. She is you. Please, Be who she needs you to be. Poetry is much harder than it seems -Atlas I will not fight the wrinkles when they come
I will allow the crows feet to gather around my eyes and I will wear them as a badge of pride Nor will I resent the moonlight that kisses my hair Streak by streak Until I am as luminescent as a pearl resting in a bed of sand Because a life well lived is a life well lived And I intend to not regret a single moment That made me who I am I liked it and then I was like 'eugh' -Atlas So let us go then
Into tomorrow Into the unknown And I might not be with you for all of it But I promise you won't be alone I actually sort of like this one??? Just a little -Atlas |
