Why do I always find positive things to say
About my teachers and classmates? Because every time you talk about them Behind their back I wonder if you do the same to me And I hope that someday Someone shows me the same courtesy :| -Atlas

I know
That this peace won't last forever. There's a storm on the horizon But at least right now, I can lie on my back And watch the clouds drift by This is okay (I guess?) -Atlas I understand that you dislike me
And maybe you're right to do so But please understand That whatever it is you see Is only a fraction of me You cannot know the entirety of a puzzle from a single piece So please tell me what I'm doing wrong I'll do my best to fix it I know I'll always have flaws Some of which you may not be able to forgive But I don't have that luxury You see, Giving up on yourself Is not very conducive To self improvement. Well this was a train wreck. Anyways, this is sort of me working through the idea that people aren't always going to like me (and I have issues with "ignore all the haters!!!" because sometimes they have a point.) I concluded (in a much more organized format than the poem): 1) I am a flawed human being. I will always be flawed. It doesn't excuse my bad behavior, and you don't have to forgive me, but I can't expect myself to be perfect. 2) Listen to constructive criticism. You don't always have to follow it, but you should at least consider it. 3) Sinking into self-hatred isn't going to help anyone. Be patient, deal with your mistakes, and move on. So yeah (wow this was really long I hope it was at least vaguely interesting? Oh well) -Atlas Learning is deceptive
It's not about getting to where you want to be (that's just a part) It's about being where you are, And starting from there. Nothing very original here but hey at least I'm writing -Atlas Happy endings don't exist
Because nothing stays the same forever Just because the story ended Doesn't mean their lives are over And as time crawls on Everything and everyone That made the ending happy Will be gone Yaaaaay now I'm sad and ruining every happy ending ever for myself -Atlas Our darkest emotions are like wounds:
Raw, Festering, Dangerous, And don't go away when we ignore them. So our fire alarms decided to go off for no reason (scary T.T) -Atlas Here is a true fact:
You will lose everything you have And everyone you love To time or death or random chance. You can run from this truth You can bury your head in the sand And tell yourself comforting lies until it all comes to pass. Or you can remember another truth: You will lose everything you have And everything you love-- But not yet. Existential crises are fun -Atlas Fire has a way of revealing your priorities.
What do you run for? What do you save? Time is a lot slower than fire It creeps up on us with little warning And takes everything impartially. What scares you the most, When you think of the future? Remember that. It's important. Ugh this doesn't make sense -Atlas To Whoever Follows Us:
Choose to think about the kind of people You are becoming. Be better than we were. I think about this sometimes -Atlas Accident:
An unpleasant situation caused by circumstance. Mistake: Meaning the choice But not the consequences. This makes no sense T.T -Atlas |
