So hey! I realize I haven't written on this blog in a really, really long time. A lot of things have happened, namely school, but they're hopefully done for now. I'm going to try an write at least one post on this blog everyday... let's see how that goes:
So I was ranting, as I do, about art, and the concept of beauty came up. How do you determine what's beautiful and what isn't? Well, I believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The concept of beauty is relative; what's beautiful to me might not be beautiful to you. I for one, find quite a few unconventional things beautiful, from people to animals, to old, run-down buildings. A lot of people do. And that's okay! Because whatever you find beautiful is what makes you feel safe, and if that thing is something that not everybody loves, then that's not a problem. It might be the smell of the air after rain, the hum of summer cicadas, or the laughter of a group of friend. The world is a sometimes scary, but overall miraculous place full of beautiful things and, as a friend quoting the musical Assassins once told me, "Everybody's got the right to some sunshine!"
