I'm working on making my characters have consistent appearances--this is the direction I'm leaning towards for Nadine. Here are some side views: Not perfect, but definitely a lot better than I was. These may or may not end up becoming references for me later (I really should make an official reference sheet...) Also, a Kirin side shot just 'cause: -Atlas

Making characters look like themselves from different angles (or even the same angles) is really, really hard--at least for me. I think I've made progress, though. You can see my favorite profiles so far here.
-Atlas Because getting your characters to look like themselves is more difficult than it seems. (I should probably make a reference sheet...)
-Atlas Drawing things from different angles/making them look 3D is hard (you may or may not have noticed me complaining about it *cough*FORESHORTENING*cough*), so I decided to this. It's not finished, but eh. I thought it looked cool.
I imagined this sort of as floating endless rectangles in the sky (I don't know, don't ask), but seeing it as a city works, too. -Atlas It's really hard to draw characters from different angles and still have them look like themselves. I think I did a pretty job here, but it's definitely something I'll need to work on.
-Atlas Everyone gets a little scared sometimes, right?
I'm still working on poses and expressions (that's going to be a thing for a while...) Also shading. I have no idea how to shade. -Atlas More doodles! Woo! I'm not totally satisfied with how this one turned out, so I might redo it later. Or maybe I'll work on other things--who knows?
-Atlas Aah! They're on my history notes!
I drew this a while back, but I forgot about it for a while (that's why I'm uploading it now.) Long story short, I wanted to see what Kirin's hair would look like in the wind and this happened. I regret nothing. -Atlas |
